Connect Your Email to Outlook.com Web

Outlook.com / Outlook Web App lets you read and send mail from any browser, without installing anything. You can add your own custom mailbox as a connected account so it shows up right alongside a Microsoft/Outlook.com account.

You'll need a free Outlook.com / Microsoft account first (or an existing Microsoft 365 mailbox). Your custom mailbox is then linked into it as a connected account.

Step-by-Step

1

Sign in to Outlook.com

Go to outlook.com and sign in with your Microsoft account.

2

Open Settings → Sync Email

Click the gear icon (⚙) top-right → General → Sync email, then choose Other email accounts.

3

Add the Connected Account

Enter your full mailbox address and password. If asked for advanced/manual settings, use the IMAP and SMTP details from your My Emails page (incoming port 993, outgoing port 465 or 587, both with SSL/TLS enabled).

4

Wait for the First Sync

Outlook.com will pull in your existing mail in the background. You can keep using the web app while it syncs; new mail usually appears within a minute or two.

Tip: once connected, you can also send mail as your custom address from Outlook.com by selecting it in the "From" field when composing.
